Station 6 was originally constructed in the 1950’s and rebuilt in 2000 to seismic standards, and serves the City of Happy Valley, as well as the Otty and Sunnyside neighborhoods.
The station houses a total of nine full-time personnel (three personnel on each 24-hour, three-shift schedule). At least one crew member per shift is a paramedic capable of providing advanced life support (ALS) treatment. Each shift has a company officer (a lieutenant or captain), an apparatus operator, and a firefighter.
Station 6 staffs an interface engine, which sees increased use during the summer months for brush fires.
Station 6 is part of North Battalion.
