Station Information

Station 5 is part of North Battalion and has four personnel on each 24-hour, four-shift schedule with at least one crew member per shift as a paramedic capable of providing advanced life support (ALS) treatment. Each shift has a company officer (a lieutenant or captain), an apparatus operator, and two firefighters.

Heavy Rescue 305 was established in October of 2014 and is a USAR company that is stationed in the North Battalion with their USAR counterpart, Truck 316 (Station 16 in Oregon City) that’s stationed in the South Battalion. Their USAR disciplines are Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Vehicle Extrication, Machinery Extrication, Trench Rescue, and Structural Collapse Rescue. The Heavy Rescue is a stand-alone apparatus at Station 5 that responds to all significant events within the fire district, such as structure fires, extrications, rescues, railway incidents, etc. Their primary functions on structure fires are primary search (searching inside burning structures for civilians) and supplementing the engine and truck companies to get hoselines in play and roofs opened.

Station 5 was built in 2003 and serves the Mt. Scott, Sunnyside, and Valley View neighborhoods, as well as the Interstate 205 and the Clackamas Town Center mall.
