A Knox Box is recommended for any commercial or residential (gates) property who wants to allow Clackamas Fire District #1 access to your facility during after-hour emergency response. This helps our firefighters to gain access when no property representative is available and aids in reducing the costs associated with forcible entry, smoke and fire damages.
To request a Knox Box, fill out the Business and Residential Knox Box Request form and follow the instructions provided HERE.

Instructions for Mounting Knox Box
- Knox Boxes will be mounted near the front/main entrance to a commercial property. If residential, boxes will be mounted next to the gate.
- Knox Boxes are to be mounted at a minimum/maximum of 6′.
- When you have your master keys, contact the Fire Marshal’s Office to coordinate closure of the Knox Box.
It will be up to the property owner to ensure Knox Boxes have up to date master keys. If any changes occur to a building lock, the property owner is responsible for contacting a representative from Clackamas Fire District to gain access to the box to update/replace the key.
If you have any questions, please contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 503-742-2660 between the hours of 7:00am-5:00pm Monday-Thursday.
